Hand drawn and hand painted, using transparent and textured glass paints. This is a large, slightly heavy piece; measures 12 inches by 12 inches. It is painted on salvaged tempered glass shelving. The wrought iron stand shown is included.
The large glass paintings look lovely in any room. They are especially vibrant if you place a light directly behind them.
Here in Austin, TX we love our bats! Approximately 1.5 million Mexican Freetail Bats live under the Congress Avenue bridge from early Spring to Fall. Every night at dusk, people gather along the bridge to watch the bats emerge and fly out over Lady Bird Lake. Each night, our resident bats can eat 10,000 to 30,000 pounds of insects; including mosquitoes and harmful agricultural pests. Thanks, Bats! This piece is my homage to our city’s unofficial symbol.
